
On February 21, 2025, the University of Latvia, Faculty of Education Sciences and Psychology, hosted the hybrid session of the 83rd International Scientific Conference “Teacher Professionalism and Education for the Future”.
The conference participants represented 8 countries: European Union countries, India and the USA, providing a broad international perspective on teacher professionalism and the future of education. The event featured presentations by education specialists from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, India, Greece, Slovenia, the USA, and Moldova. The conference section was prepared and chaired by the staff of Teacher Education Department: Anita Auziņa, Ilze Miķelsone, Indra Odiņa, and Anna Stavicka. The conference was attended by representatives from 15 universities and higher education institutions from different countries, including:

The conference was held in two plenary sessions and 4 parallel sessions. 56 researchers presented 33 presentations on the following topics:
Teacher well-being and professional development
Inclusive education and support for students with special needs and talents
The impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on education
Civic education and intercultural understanding
Development of teacher competences and career changes in the teaching profession
The aim of the conference was to promote the interaction of research and pedagogical practice, develop international cooperation and create innovations in education. It was also our pleasure to welcome the students of Jelgava Spidola State Gymnasium in our conference.
