
We invite you to join the "Plenary Session: Human, Technologies and Quality of Education" organized by the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology of the University of Latvia. The Plenary Session will occur on January 30 at 10:00 AM as a part of the 83rd International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia.
The plenary session will be broadcast live on Facebook.
This year, the main theme of the Plenary Session is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Three experts in this field will deliver Keynote Speaches:
- Professor Theofanis G. Orphanoudakis, director of the Digital Systems and media Computing Laboratory (Greece), will present the topic "Impact of AI on STEAM education: state of play, needs and challenges", presenting the results of the study on the opportunities provided by AI in STEM education, describing the current situation in the education system, as well as defining future challenges that must be taken into account and for which solutions must be sought.
- Professor Hüseyin Üvet, Yıldız Technical University, Department of Mechatronics Engineering (Turkey), will present a the topic "Developing Fair AI Algorithms for Student Assessment", focusing on the challenges and strategies to develop AI systems that fairly assess student performance, avoiding biases related to demographics or learning styles.
- Professor Margherita Pagani, Director of the SKEMA Center for Artificial Intelligence (France), will present the lecture "Reimagine Education with AI", exploring the transformative potential of AI in education, focusing on Generative AI and Large Language Models.
