Latvijas Universitātes (LU) Pedagoģijas, psiholoģijas un mākslas fakultātē (PPMF) 8.decembrī doktora studiju programmas "Pedagoģija" ietvaros no plkst. 14.15 līdz 16.00 V-201.telpā notiks vieslekcija "What is the value of PhD degree in non-?academic jobs? The case of teachers", kuru vadīs Dr. Marta Kovaļčuka-Valedziaka (Marta Kowalczuk-Walędziak) no Bjalistokas Universitātes (University of Bialystok, Polija). Uz vieslekciju tiek aicināti visi PPMF mācībspēki, kā arī visu studiju līmeņu studenti. Lekcija notiks angļu valodā.

Marta Kowalczuk-Walędziak (Ph.D.) is an assistant professor at the Department of General Pedagogy and Research Methods in Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, University of Bialystok, Poland. She also co-founded and for 3 years has been the President of the Foundation “Centre of Transfer of Socio-Pedagogical Innovations and Know-how”. She is a certified 1st degree academic tutor. Her main research interests focus on the role of PhD studies in the professional field, the impact of master’s degree education on teachers’ personal and professional development and linking educational theory and practice. She has been awarded four University research grants to develop her research projects. She was also awarded a Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists from the Minister of Science and Higher Education in Poland. At the moment, she participates in a research project “Introducing Modules on Law and Rights in Programmes of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences”, financed by the Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission as an expert in teacher education. In the past 5 years, she has published 4 books, 32 book chapters, and 11 articles in scientific journals.
