Alongside the workshop sessions, the practice schools of the University of Latvia are invited to join the STEAMinSDGs Classroom Challenge, where students connect STEAM skills with the Sustainable Development Goals through creative mini-projects.

Activity Steps:

  1. Picking an SDG – each class chooses a sustainability goal meaningful to them (e.g., climate action, clean water, gender equality).

  2. Creating a Mini-Project – students prepare their work in one of the following formats:

    • Poster or infographic

    • Short video or animation

    • Artwork (digital or physical)

    • Simple experiment or demonstration

  3. Classroom Presentations – on STEAMinSDGs Day, each group presents their project, followed by a teacher-led discussion on how STEAM can help solve sustainability challenges.

  4. Sharing with the World – schools highlight their projects online using the hashtag #STEAMinSDGsDay and submit selected materials to the project website steaminsdgs.eu.

STEAMinSDGs Day is a unique opportunity to empower future teachers with practical strategies for integrating global challenges into classroom learning, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and sustainability-driven action among students.
