Riga, December 9, 2024 — A pioneering educational resource, the STEAMinSDGs Guidebook, has been officially released by the STEAMinSDGs project consortium. Supported by the European Commission, this innovative publication offers educators across Europe and beyond a comprehensive framework for embedding the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) curricula.

In response to the growing need for interdisciplinary learning that addresses real-world challenges, the guidebook combines pedagogical research with practical strategies for engaging students in sustainability, active citizenship, and global problem-solving. It showcases effective teaching methodologies, motivational drivers in STEAM education, and successful case studies of integrating SDGs into classrooms.

“The STEAMinSDGs Guidebook is more than a teaching manual—it’s a vision for the future of education,” said project coordinators. “By combining creativity, scientific inquiry, and civic responsibility, we aim to equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in and contribute to an increasingly complex world.”

The guidebook highlights methods such as project-based learning, design thinking, and technology-enhanced education, ensuring accessibility and adaptability across diverse educational settings. Special attention is given to addressing gender disparities and supporting low-performing students through inclusive and engaging approaches.
